We all love to eat and it’s so much fun to eat out with our friends. Not only does the food taste good, but our government would NEVER allow any company to become bad and hurt us in any way, now would they?
WELL, WOULD THEY??
Between 75% to 80% of the processed food you consume every day has GMOs inside, and residues of Monsanto’s RoundUp herbicide outside. But it’s not just processed food—fresh fruit and vegetables are next: genetically engineered sweet corn is already being sold at your local grocer, with apples and a host of other “natural” produce currently in field trials.
How is it that Monsanto is allowed to manipulate our food after such a dark product history? How is it they are allowed to cause such detrimental impact to our environment and our health?
According to the Organic Consumers Association, “There is a direct correlation between our genetically engineered food supply and the $2 trillion the U.S. spends annually on medical care, namely an epidemic of diet-related chronic diseases.
Instead of healthy fruits, vegetables, grains, and grass-fed animal products, U.S. factory farms and food processors produce a glut of genetically engineered junk foods that generate heart disease, stroke, diabetes and cancer—backed by farm subsidies—while organic farmers receive no such subsidies.
Monsanto’s history reflects a consistent pattern of toxic chemicals, lawsuits, and manipulated science. Is this the kind of company we want controlling our world’s food supply?
This is a part of the larger article that I believe everyone should read, have knowledge of, and work together in whatever ways we can, to fight what is happening to our food supply. It not only makes many people fat, but it is killing us.
PS- We’ve noticed a huge conflict of information in our food and health industries. Cancer is alive and well, mostly caused by the unhealthy foods given us to eat and we’re told many things are good for us that actually causes cancer. Add to that the fact that cancer is a symptom, not the disease most people believe it to be and confusion grows. We get the possibility of cancer every day in our food, water and the very air we breathe. If our immune system is strong, it keeps us from getting cancer. If our immune system is weak, cancer is a very real possibility. No drug company wants people to know cancer can be prevented- they would go out of that lucrative business and those trying to find a cure would no longer be needed. Unfortunately the fact that sun-ripened fruits and veggies keep your immune system strong, thus preventing cancer is largely swept under the rug and not recognized. There are companies that sell these vitamins and those are the ones you should take. If you are currently taking a vitamin and get a cold or flu- change your brand! Once you have a vitamin that keeps colds and flu away, you should not get cancer, either. Even so, the right vitamin is not a license to eat wrong. You should always strive for a balance of good food and vitamins in your life.
