After all, doesn’t everyone know that it is unhealthy to gain weight and become fat? Doesn’t everyone know that Doctors tell us if we become obese that we risk heart attack, stroke, diabetes, cancer, and a great many other diseases that no one wants to get? So you believe that by my saying this, I’ve probably lost my last marble?  PLEASE ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN!

Undoubtedly we’ve all known someone who, even though a rather thin person, suffered a heart attack, got diabetes, cancer, or other disease quite suddenly without warning. Some even died without an opportunity to discover how to become well. Contrast that to the person who became fat and followed their Doctors advice to lose weight before getting a bad disease. As it turns out, fat is our friend.

It is a warning that we are becoming unhealthy and will get an illness in the future if we don’t change something in our life- most usually our diet, because believe it or not… WE ARE WHAT WE EAT.

After reading and following the Eat Healthy! way of life, there are some who still have trouble, either in losing the last few pounds or in keeping it off once it’s gone. We’ve found this is usually due to a low metabolism, carbohydrate intolerance or not enough probiotics. Also it may be they are still consuming chemicals in some of their foods. The article on our current day wheat should answer some of your important questions. We believe everyone should follow the advice of their own Naturopath, but we can tell you that adding GREEN TEA and PROBIOTICS to your daily diet will help burn fat while losing and also help keep it off after. I happen to be carbohydrate intolerant, and have found many others also have this problem, so the things I suggest here and on my EAT HEALTHY! page, are things I’ve done with great success and believe will most likely work for you too. If you choose to watch your carb intake (I’ve now had 3 doctors tell me not to count calories, but just carbs), remember that proteins and fats have none (or very few), and will satisfy your hunger for hours at a time! It is also a good idea to not take in more than 60 carb grams per day and less if the scales say you’re getting too many to lose another pound.


For those of you who just want, or perhaps really need, to diet, we have some yummy things to share with you here that works well for us and others. Of course you can eat solid food for each of your meals every day, but we really like to have thick, yummy, healthy smoothies for one or two meals- those super thick and very delicious protein filled shakes will satisfy until you eat again and your fat will be melting away- a win, win all the way around!

To have a low-carb healthy smoothie, you will need to put 8-16 oz (your choice) of water into your blender. If you like, you can put a milk instead- perhaps coconut or almond, or even half water and half milk- then add to your liquid a quality whey protein powder. Then we like to add a scoop of a special shake mix from Rockin’ Wellness, blend well and enjoy! If your carb count allows, add fruit or berries and even Greek Yogurt (we like Chobani)- the possibilities are unlimited- and they are all most delicious! THERE’S MORE! We’ve had a number of Doctors and Health Specialists tell us that Intermittent Fasting is a wonderful and easy way to lose weight and be free of some diseases as well. We tried it and it works so well that we will share with you here our own version of the ONE DAY DIET that is being recommended by so many.

This page is being updated from the One Day Diet Coach Josh gave us to this more inclusive one that includes others and our own findings as well.

Secret #1: Harness the power of intermittent fasting. This is where you send your fat-burning hormones into overdrive by eating your meals during a specific window of time during the day. (I won’t bore you with all the science details now, but just know it’s a cool trick to remove that pesky flab.)

Secret #2: Enjoy two, super-quick, 60-second flab-burning “milkshake” meals during the day. I have recipes to share with you!

Secret #3: Eat a balanced dinner in the early evening.

So here’s my typical One Day Diet plan:

MEAL ONE: Skip breakfast (what?!) and then eat your first meal at 12 noon. Your first 60-second meal will consist of a fat-burning, all-natural, high-protein BioTrust “milkshake.” I change up the flavor almost daily, but here’s what I enjoyed today:

Pumpkin Pie Milkshake


2 scoops of all-natural Low Carb whey Vanilla Protein
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
½ cup pumpkin puree
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
stevia (to taste)
5 ice cubes

Notes: Put all ingredients in a blender and enjoy!

MEAL TWO: Three hours later at around 3PM have your second 60-second fat-burning, all-natural, high-protein “milkshake” meal. Here’s the recipe I used today:

Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake (delicious!)


2 Scoops of all-natural Low Carb whey Vanilla Protein
1 Cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
1/2 Cup Nonfat Greek Yogurt
1 Cup Frozen Strawberries
1/2 TSP Cinnamon
Stevia (to taste)
5 Ice Cubes

Notes: Put all ingredients in a blender and enjoy!

MEAL THREE: Three hours later (post workout) at around 6 pm have a healthy dinner which consists of:

1. A lean protein source (like chicken, grass-fed beef, wild salmon, or turkey)

2. A half cup of a nutrient-packed complex carbs like half a sweet potato, quinoa, barley or beans

3. A cup or two (eat all you want really) of fibrous veggies like asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, peas or a dinner salad. (Use a bit of olive oil and seasonings to flavor.)

Drink at least 8 large glasses of water per day (important)… and I enjoy a cup of green tea or organic coffee most mornings. Then, one day a week, I take a day “off ” the One Day Diet plan and eat regular meals all day (typically Saturday for me). I follow the One Day Diet for 30-days and then take a full week off and repeat.

    Hi I read your article about pain after gallbladder and wanted to comment or send you an email but couldn’t find an option to allow me to do that. There is a disorder caused Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction that is most prevalent in women who had their gallbladders removed. Most doctors misdiagnose these women as they don’t understand SOD. I would love if you could mention it in that article or a future article. Go to for more info.
